Lex Sokolin, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Generative Ventures, joins the XMAQUINA DAO as an advisor and member of the Scoring Committee. A seasoned fintech and Web3 expert, Lex brings his experience in scaling decentralized ecosystems and driving innovation at the intersection of finance, AI, and blockchain.
Lex will focus on strengthening governance, conducting due diligence, and providing expert feedback on proposals to support informed and effective DAO decisions.
Who is Lex Sokolin?
Generative Ventures is a venture capital firm investing in early-stage startups within the machine economy. Its portfolio includes companies building decentralized infrastructure, artificial intelligence solutions, and data-centric platforms. Notable investments include peaq’s ecosystem for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN); Exabits, a decentralized GPU cloud provider; Nevermined, an AI-to-AI payment processing protocol, and Moemate, an AI agents tokenization platform.
Lex Sokolin co-founded Generative Ventures, with his background in blockchain and fintech. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at ConsenSys, including Chief Economist and Global Fintech Co-Head, where he led initiatives around token design, DAO strategy, and DeFi integrations into products like MetaMask and Infura.
His experience also includes advising institutional investors on technology trends impacting the financial sector as a Partner at Autonomous Research, as well as founding digital investment platforms like AdvisorEngine and NestEgg Wealth. Lex holds a JD/MBA from Columbia University.

What is your vision for the future of robotics, automation, and the decentralized machine economy?
The decentralized machine economy is about using the financial primitives of blockchains to enable the economic activity of software and hardware machines. DAOs play a critical role here in creating systems that are fair and accessible, enabling communities to make collective decisions and benefit from shared resources. This helps people collaborate within open systems, creating opportunities for broader participation.
What drew you to XMAQUINA?
XMAQUINA’s DAO concept provides a structured way for people and businesses to start participating in the machine economy. By focusing on decentralization and collective governance, the MachineDAO represents a meaningful step forward in creating systems where decisions are shared, and benefits are distributed. It’s a thoughtful approach to solve capital formation challenges for physical / embodied AI.
