Who is Martin El-Khouri?
Martin’s career spans Web3, venture capital, and business development. At Bertelsmann Investments, he launched and led B3-THE HUB, creating a central interface for Web3 projects and securing over €40 million in investments. He now leads ecosystem and business development at peaq, the leading L1 infrastructure for DePINs. Earlier in his career, Martin worked as a news reporter, political consultant, and founder in the medical tourism industry, demonstrating his diverse expertise in navigating complex environments and driving impactful change.

What is your vision for the future of robotics, automation, and the decentralized machine economy?
The decentralized machine economy represents a new paradigm where value creation is democratized. By decentralizing infrastructure like robotics and automation, we can enable technologies that are transparent, efficient, and accessible. I see this as a way to redefine economic structures and provide opportunities for individuals and businesses alike to participate in the next wave of technological progress.
What drew you to XMAQUINA?
XMAQUINA is a natural extension of my work at peaq and my commitment to enabling decentralized economies. The team’s vision for democratizing robotics and transforming it into an open, co-governed ecosystem is bold and necessary. XMAQUINA not only addresses the challenges of capital access and centralization but also offers a clear path for equitable participation in the machine economy.
In your view, what opportunities or challenges is XMAQUINA best positioned to tackle?
With its focus on decentralized governance and real-world utility, XMAQUINA is tackling the barriers that have traditionally excluded smaller players and innovators from automation’s benefits.
